Clean Tech
Our firm's experience over the past ten years has been in biopharmaceuticals, medical technology, diagnostics and bio IT. A new area of focus is in the clean technology industry with particular interest in biofuels and industrial biotechnology.
Bente has been instrumental in building the biotechnology and medical device businesses for two large retained search firms, DHR International in Chicago and Gilbert Tweed in New York as well as her own firm which is in its 10th year.
Just as she worked with these companies to attract and retain the right talent when the industry was in its early stages, Bente Hansen & Associates will apply the same diligence and creativity within the clean tech industry. These early stage companies need a combination of individual expertise with an entrepreneurial attitude, ability to multi-task, a sense of urgency and a passion for the industry.
The principals of Bente Hansen & Associates have been involved in the biotechnology and Ag-biotechnology industries since the early 90's. The startup companies grew to become more established and throughout that process, people were needed with a broad combination of skills and experience in telecom, engineering, agriculture, biopharmaceuticals, device and chemicals to name a few.
We are currently working with a number of clean technology startup companies who are raising capital to develop and commercialize products and services. This startup environment will need people with a track record of success in small business growth.
One of our clients, an industrial biotech company, has retained us for two key search assignments as it is progressing towards the commercialization of their initial product. Another position was an R&D position for a polymer biotech company. We have also worked on a number of positions in the chemical industry and with SAIC, also in this industry. Our firm recently completed a search for Equinox Center, a non-partisan, independent, nonprofit research center focused on economically sound environmental sustainability for the San Diego region. Smart growth and land use, transportation solutions, green building and energy and water efficiency are areas of concern to this non profit and these are areas where they will attract leaders to drive solutions.
Allylix is an ag-biotechnology company with a proprietary platform in terpenes. Terpenes is a class of natural chemicals which hold tremendous possibilities across a wide number of industries. Terpenes are the fundamental molecular structures that underpin the production of chemicals and that find wide applicability across a variety of products, including flavors and fragrances, crop protection products, pharmaceuticals and biofuels.
We partnered with the Chief Executive Officer to identify and attract a Vice President of Research & Development and a Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Both searches were completed and the individuals have contributed to the growth of this company. Allylix recently signed an agreement to license its terpene technology to a leading clean technology company.
